Huawei Watch D revealed with elusive blood pressure feature

With SmartWatches into a mini health clinic, it’s really just a matter of time before the most difficult features are finally implemented. While detecting irregular heart rhythms is clearly a savior, high blood pressure is usually a greater concern for more people. Unfortunately, it has been proven to be more difficult to measure with SmartWatches, but Huawei’s latest smartwatch now officially claims to have a problem resolved where the larger rival has failed.

As mentioned earlier, applying an accurate and convenient way to measure blood pressure is not easy. Requirements for temporarily pouring blood flow using cuffs has become one of the biggest design problems for smartwatch makers and even medical equipment manufacturers such as Omron and citizens. Huawei has been rumored to have found a way around it, but it is not surprising to be shy in technical details.

Huawei calls new technology “Trubp” and is described as “hybrid blood pressure measurement technology.” It uses a micro pump and airbag on the rope to take the plain cuff place, while the high-precision pressure sensor and the pressure feedback circuit pressure reads. Although naturally there will be some inaccuracies, Huawei claims that the mistake margin is 3mmhg small surprisingly.

Huawei blood pressure monitor is recognized, although there is sacrifice in this portable comfort. As explained by Huawei’s own manual, measuring BP using a smartwatch requires several patients and very specific positions. It may need a little discomfort if it means it doesn’t have to carry a blood pressure monitor around, especially if you are willing to ignore a little margin of errors.

Apart from this headlining feature, Huawei Watch D is also equipped with the technology of “Truseen” this company, this time in version 5.0+, to power the ECG function. Other watch sensors include typical optical heart rate sensors, spo2 blood oxygen level monitors, and the like. All information is displayed on the AMOLED 1.64 inch screen 456 × 280 watches that take rectangular shapes, unlike most smartwatches today.

While Huawei Watch D is compatible with devices running the Harmonya, Android, and even iOS, SmartWatch itself will not be widely available. Currently selling in China for 2,988 RMB (around $ 470), but there is no word on the launch on the international market.
