Coming in December, the newsroom fell to the preparation routine ‘end of the year’ list almost with the tendency of Pavlovian. Because, this is an exercise that might be as old as journalism. The best and worst of what happens in the final year is the General Gist of these lists prepared across the knock on journalism.
As a technology platform, TechRadar doesn’t want to have many lists like that on a cellphone, laptop and what doesn’t. But it’s equally in fitness things that we also have compilation on many films on the streaming platform, because they become big in the past two years.
So, we went down to choose a film that worked for us, and also not as bad as this year. Because too many goodness is also boring.
For the sake of even spreading, we chose each of them from Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada — language that seems to dominate the spectrum of Indian OTT. Of course, British films have great fanbases in India. But we have limited ourselves to Lingo India in these columns — Come to think of it — without any reason.
Also, we have limited themselves to films released directly on the OTT platform or a very short walk in the cinema because Covid-19 (Kho Kho, Jathi Rathnalu), skip the cinema. Then again, this is one of the filters we use to make everything easy for us.
And, most importantly, this is a very subjective collection. But with films, you know, always so.
PS: Being a list collected towards the end of the actual year, several films like, say, Minnal Murali, Ataran Re, Madhuram has not been considered.
PS1: Films Named Head Head Well are people who don’t work for us.
