Apple airpods are one of the most popular earbuds in the world. This device offers decent sound quality in small packages, while also opening a number of additional features for iPhone users, such as enhanced siri interactions.
Apple introduces automatic switching on September 2020, allows airpods – and select Beats headphones – for use on some relatively smooth devices. Because airpod associated with Apple ID, every Apple device that enters the same account can share airpod.
“For example, if you listen to music on your Mac with airpods but you want to listen to your iPhone, start playing music, podcasts, or other audio on your iPhone – Airpods you switch to an iPhone automatically,” Apple reading page support. “Your airpods also switch automatically to the iPhone when you call.”
Even though it’s convenient to switch automatically, there are times when you can be annoying. Fortunately, it’s relatively easy to turn off this feature.
To turn off automatic switching, you must be on your device, your airpod is currently connected.
Instructions for iPhone or iPad
– Open the settings application, and select “Bluetooth.”
– Tap the info icon next to your airpod, and search “Connect to [Device]”
– Change the connection option to “When it was last connected to this [device].”
One important thing to note: You need to take the steps above on each of your devices, or at least a device you don’t want to switch automatically. For example, you might want your airpod to automatically switch to your iPhone, but not your Mac. In this case, you need to take the steps above for your Mac, but let the switching automatically be activated on your iPhone.
